At Taxing Matters we’ve been building client relationships for over twenty years. We are not your average store-front tax preparation shop open for two months a year shoving clients out the door at lightning speed. We work with clients year-round because life happens all year long, and our clients have questions and changes that affect their tax situation during the year. Some of our clients have been with us for over twenty years and their children have gone on to become clients of ours as well. We are not just tax preparers – we are stress relievers! Sherri F. Mahoney-Battles, EA started the firm, Taxing Matters, in 1987. She is licensed by the U.S. Treasury Department as an Enrolled Agent to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the IRS. As an Enrolled Agent, Sherri has represented clients in cases of audit, collections, and appeals and is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and the National Association of Tax Professionals. In addition, during the course of her career she has presented seminars for small business owners, spoken on local radio programs and written articles for newspapers and magazines regarding tax and financial issues. Currently, she maintains offices in Orleans and Westport, Massachusetts and lives on a small farm in Westport with her husband and two daughters.
