Got Tax Problems?
Clients that contact us often have tax problems. For a variety of reasons people either do not file their tax returns or find themselves in tax debt. Many times we are contacted by clients that have not filed taxes for over ten years.
As part of our representation service, we file a power-of-attorney allowing us to contact taxing agencies on behalf of our clients. We obtain records providing income information, prepare back tax returns, and work with tax agencies to make arrangements for payment plans on behalf of clients that have tax debt. In some cases we can submit an offer to settle a tax debt thereby saving taxpayers thousands of dollars!
We have been working on helping clients resolve tax problems for over twenty years so we have systematic solutions that can bring relief to clients that are feeling overwhelmed and stressed by tax problems.
Enrolled Agents are licensed to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. As part of this process, a power-of-attorney may be filed with either the Internal Revenue Service or the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. This power-of-attorney allows us to provide and receive information regarding a taxpayer’s unresolved tax issues. It also means that we will receive copies of notices sent to our client from the Federal or State governments where the power-of-attorney is filed and that the government agents involved will contact our firm directly, thereby reducing stress on our clients. As part of our representation services, we may request transcripts of a taxpayer’s account, negotiate installment agreements, or work within the offer in compromise program.
If you have failed to file tax returns or have outstanding tax debt, you should contact our office to discuss your options.
